Albuquerque Institute For Mathematics and science

Student Life

AIMS serves a diverse student body. We specifically target students with a serious interest in science, math, and technology and groups typically underrepresented in the fields of science and engineering, including young women, students of color, students from low-income households, and students who would be first-generation college graduates.

At AIMS students experience the values of civic duty, fortitude, and responsibility on a daily basis. Through both school-sponsored and teacher-generated initiatives, we provide a wide range of community and extracurricular activities, including service learning, social and informational events, academic and social clubs, and student government. All programs promote our belief that students take ownership of their overall education, their school, and their community as a means of enriching their own lives and those of others. Our programs strive to promote leadership development, civic involvement, and a lifelong love of learning.
