I grew up just south of Detroit, Michigan where I attended the public school system. I joined the military at the age of 18 and got married at 19. I retired from the military and I’m still married to my beautiful wife after 33 years. To say that I commit to my intentions would be an understatement. It's who I am. I dreamed of  becoming a teacher before I graduated from high school, but I needed to learn plenty before I would become a person others wanted to learn from.   The world inspired me. The military shaped me. I had kids of my own and finally saw the place I could fit in the teaching world. My degrees are in Computer Science, Personnel Wellness, and Education.  I’m licensed as “highly qualified” in Math and Technology, with over 18 years experience at the middle and high school levels. I have been integral in the development of two schools in the Albuquerque area, the Early College Academy (ECA) for APS and the Albuquerque Institute for Mathematics and Science (AIMS) charter school.

I have taught a variety of grades, but I’ve always gravitated towards middle school students. I teach 6th grade math and 8th grade STEM, and I love it. I especially enjoy working with my students on the pre-Algebra they will need when they start earning high school credits in 8th grade Algebra. When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, sharpening my computer skills, driving my tractor around my future retirement property, and creating new uses for unused items (up-cycling).
